Master the Handstand: Inside My 4-Week Handstand Lab Series in Draper, UT

Ready to go beyond wall holds and kick-ups? If you’ve already built a solid foundation and are craving more control, more confidence, and more fun in your handstand journey—my 4-Week Handstand Lab Series is for you.

This in-person progressive series is designed specifically for adults who can already hold a free-standing handstand (even if it’s just for a few seconds!) and are ready to learn how to refine, strengthen, and elevate their skills. We meet weekly at Salt City Calisthenics in Draper, UT, and each class builds on the last, helping you master the mechanics of handbalancing—one layer at a time.

Here’s a peek at what we cover each week:

Week 1: Handstand Foundations – Finding the Float
We start with the basics—because even advanced handbalancers benefit from refining their foundation. This week is all about learning how to “float” in a handstand with control. We’ll refine entries, alignment, and that all-important hollow body position so you can set yourself up for success every time you kick up.

Week 2: Balance vs. Counter-Balance
Now that you’re up there, how do you stay up? This week dives into the subtle differences between balance and counter-balance. You’ll discover how to shift weight through your fingers, how to react (instead of overcorrect), and how to find that magical stillness in your handstand—even when it feels like you’re tipping over.

Week 3: Arch Handstands
Forget what you’ve heard—arching isn’t “bad.” This week, we explore the beauty of arched handstands, how to control them, and when to use them intentionally. You'll learn how to shift your shape safely and strengthen your chest, back and shoulders to support the position.

Week 4: Hip Roll & Press Handstands
We finish strong with some dynamic and challenging shapes. This final week introduces hip rolls and press drills for those working toward a press-to-handstand. Even if you’re not pressing yet, you’ll walk away with exercises to help you build the strength and control to get there. Plus, you'll gain serious strength for saving those under-balances!
